Shopify Website For Bakery - Case Study
Brief
Butter Desserts is a local bakery in Santa Rosa. They make great cakes and desserts and a loyal fan following on social media.
The Challenge
But there was a couple of problems.
First, they didn't have a way of consistently getting leads. Butter Desserts felt like they were always trying to play the algorithm game on Instagram. Most their leads and sales from Instagram, and although that brought in some income, it was a hit-or-miss.
Secondly, Butter Desserts didn't have a good way to handle online orders. They were using Shopify, but it wasn't configured correctly to their business model.
The solution
There's a few things that we did to help Butter Desserts.
Local SEO - in order to help them show up on Google searches, we optimized their website and their Google Business Profile. Specifically, we wanted to reach the Santa Rosa and Sonoma County area. Within a couple of weeks, they were getting 7 times more leads.
Shopify improvements - in order to streamline their online ordering system, we installed and configured the right plugins to their Shopify store. This made it easy for them to take orders for pickup as well as custom orders.
Facebook and Instagram ads - to boost specific sales, for example Mother's Day sale, we ran ads for them on social media. Even with a small ad budget of less than $20/day, we we're able to get more sales and have a positive ROI.
The result
They no longer rely solely on Instagram for leads and their operations are much better. Customers are able to easily place orders, get the right email notifications, and the owner is not overwhelmed with trying to manage all the orders in their instagram DMs.
We're still working with Butter Desserts to help them with their website and digital marketing.
