E-commerce Redesign & WooCommerce to Shopify Migration - Case Study
Brief
Remark Glass is a sustainable company that transforms recycled bottles into beautiful, functional pieces. As a glassware company, they needed a more effective e-commerce platform to showcase their unique products and streamline their online sales process.
Challenge
Remark Glass was operating on WooCommerce, which was creating limitations in their online sales capabilities. Their existing website lacked visual appeal to properly showcase their products and had a cumbersome user experience that was hindering the conversion rate. The administrative backend was also time-consuming for staff to manage, taking focus away from their core business.

Solution
We executed a complete platform migration from WooCommerce to Shopify, beginning with creating a fresh, modern design in Figma that better highlighted their sustainable glassware products.
Design Process
The new design emphasized product photography and streamlined the shopping experience. We then built the entire site on Shopify's e-commerce platform, integrating inventory management, simplifying checkout processes, and enhancing product categorization. We went for a colorful and welcoming experience, a simple navigation, and showcasing products on the homepage to allow shopping to be easier and quicker. Plus we added a glass-effect on the menu bar which went really well with their brand name "Remark Glass".

Technical Implementation
For the tech stack we used HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Shopify Liquid. This included an animated menu that showcased the client's impact, important for a sustainable business website. We started with the Dawn theme and customized the code to match the Figma design, a pixel-perfect implementation. On the product page, we included a custom label that allowed the user to showcase what type of glass the final product was made from. For example, the Snack Bowl, came from a recycled wine bottle.

Result
The platform migration and redesign delivered dramatic results for Remark Glass. Revenue tripled (3x increase) after launch, demonstrating the immediate impact of the improved user experience and visual presentation. The Shopify platform provided the team with a significantly easier-to-use website backend, reducing time spent on site management and allowing them to focus more on their craft and business growth. The streamlined shopping experience led to higher conversion rates and increased average order values.
